Yes. R-420A is listed as SNAP acceptable by the United States EPA as
well as approved by the military with the NSN #6830-01-433-6674. Does

R-420A require an oil change?
No. The mineral oil in existing systems does not have to be removed
when installing R-420A. If oil has to be added we recommend the addition
of mineral oil to replace what has been lost. Packaged with a
performance enhancing lubricant already in R-420A, this blend
can improve system operation.
Does

R-420A require any retrofit parts?
No. R-420A is formulated to match the thermodynamic properties and
operating characteristics of R -12. It is designed to facilitate a quick
change which does not require any retrofit parts.
Do I have to flush my system to use

Yes. Commercially available Halogen selective leak detectors will
detect R-420A leaks.
Will I have to purchase new recovery equipment?
No. Your existing recovery equipment will work

Testing has shown that the R-420A blend does not significantly
change, even after numerous leaks; R-420A can be topped off multiple
times after repairing a system leak.
